Violation of Protective Injunctions
Section 784.047 of the Florida Statutes defines this crime. The easiest way to protect yourself from accidentally violating this section is to follow the guidelines in the injunction. Stay away from the person who got the injunction against you. The injunction statute is subject to abuse due to the fact that there is no hearing required to get a temporary injunction which can affect your rights substantially. Usually there will be a hearing scheduled for 2-3 weeks after you are served with the paperwork. During that time period you need to make sure to stay away from the party who requested the injunction.
