Clarence Wood (1926 - 2015) founded Wood, Atter & Wolf in 1957. With a strong civil and criminal trial background, Mr. Wood represented the interests of individuals and families from intake to verdict. The Firm is inspired by and committed to continuing Mr. Wood’s work ethic, passion, and dedication to the welfare of its clients.


Attorney Michael A. Atter Michael A. Atter, J.D., an “A.V.-Preeminent” rated attorney, is a graduate of Florida State University (B.A., Magna Cum Laude, English 1976) and the Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee, FL (J.D. 1979). He is a member of the Florida Bar and Federal Bar-Middle District of Florida. Mr. Atter joined the Firm as an Associate in 1981 and has served as the Managing Partner since 1996, where he has overseen the growth of the Firm from two attorneys to its present configuration, encompassing five attorneys and two locations, as well as expanding its areas of practice from personal injury, medical malpractice, family law, and criminal law to include business, estate planning, employment, sports and entertainment, intellectual property, bankruptcy and foreclosure defense. Prior to coming to the Firm, he served as Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, where he prosecuted juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony offenses, including murder cases, from 1979 to 1981. When he left the State Attorney's Office to join the Firm, he was a Circuit Court Division Head. At Wood, Atter & Wolf, P.A., Mr. Atter has primarily represented Plaintiffs in Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, and Medical Malpractice cases. A veteran of jury trials and high-end injury cases, he has concentrated in the areas of traumatic brain injury, trucking accidents and complex medical negligence cases. Over the years, Mr. Atter has handled numerous cases resulting in seven-figure outcomes. Mr. Atter also represents clients in Family Law and Criminal Law matters. His civic involvement has included: Presdient of Board for Five STAR Veterans’ Center; Board of Directors, Greater Jacksonville Area USO (2007-Present). Attorney David WolfDavid Wolf, an "A.V.-Preeminent" rated attorney, joined the firm in 1998. With broad experience in the areas of personal injury, automobile accidents, trucking accidents, bicycle accidents, motorcycle accidents, pedestrian accidents, child injury, medical malpractice, and nursing home abuse, Mr. Wolf dedicates his time and effort to injury victims and their families. Mr. Wolf is a former contract attorney with the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services and has a solid understanding of the every day hardships faced by individuals and families. In 2008, Mr. Wolf was promoted to a named partner of the firm and continues his work in these practice areas.

As part of the North Florida community, he serves on the Board of Directors as the Vice President for the Jacksonville Jewish Community Alliance. He was awarded the Esther Leah Ritz Leadership Award in 2014 at the Biennial Convention held in San Diego, California.

Mr. Wolf is also active with the Florida Elite Soccer Academy where he serves as a Special Advisor. The Florida Elite Soccer Academy is the largest youth soccer program in the State of Florida. He previously served on the Board of Directors as the Secretary for Creeks Athletic Association - Soccer for 4 years. He also coached at the Recreation level and the Academy level for Creeks Soccer. Wood, Atter & Wolf, P.A. and David Wolf sponsored the Twisters 3 v. 3 and 5 v. 5 Soccer Teams and Team Caution 3 v. 3 and 5 v. 5 Soccer Teams. The Twisters Boys team and the Twisters Girls team participated in and won various tournaments in Florida and Georgia. These teams competed at the 3 v. 3 National Championship at the ESPN (Disney) Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida. Wood, Atter & Wolf - Team Caution won the Jacksonville 5 v. 5 Coerver Cup Championship (See Community Service - Youth Soccer - David A. Wolf.) In addition to his work as Special Advisor for the Florida Elite Soccer Academy, Mr. Wolf also served as a youth soccer referee and a club volunteer.

In 2013, Mr. Wolf founded the Good Deed Brigade. The mission of the Good Deed Brigade is to promote the actions and kindness of people making a difference in the community. By completing this mission, the Good Deed Brigade hopes to encourage others to do their part to make the community a better place. In 2016, Mr. Wolf was one of the keynote speakers for the Be the Best You Event which has the mission of helping high school students develop the skills and courage to live life well and best the best version of themselves. Mr. Wolf presented on the topics of underage drinking, DUI (Driving Under the Influence), Parental Liability and Responsibility (Negligent Driving), and House Parties (Liability). David Wolf is an advocate for eduction, community service, the safety of infants, toddlers, children, teens, adults, and seniors.


Attorney Jennifer M. Erlinger Jennifer Erlinger moved to Jacksonville in 2009, after growing up in the Tampa Bay area. Ms. Erlinger received her Bachelor's of Arts from the University of Florida. She went on to achieve both her Juris Doctor, where she focused her study on Trial Advocacy, receiving a Certificate of Concentration in Advocacy for the top ranked advocacy center of Stetson College of Law. She also received her Master's in Business Administration from Stetson University. Prior to joining Wood, Atter, & Wolf, Ms. Erlinger has worked as an Assistant State Attorney, Assistant Attorney General both in child support enforcement and in the Ethics Bureau. She has also worked at the Guardian Ad Litem Program, where she represented foster children aging out of the Florida foster care system. Ms. Erlinger's trial experience in the public sector has prepared her to represent clients from all walks of life in their family, criminal, and administrative law cases.


Attorney Julia HodgesJulia Hodges is a native of Jacksonville. Ms. Hodges received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida and her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. Ms. Hodges is licensed to practice in Florida, United States Middle District of Florida, and Georgia.

Ms. Hodges focuses her practice on representing clients in all areas of Family Law. Ms. Hodges also represents clients in Criminal Defense and Real Estate Law including Foreclosure and Landlord Tenant matters.

Ms. Hodges began her career as a Staff Attorney at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid in the Fair Housing Division. From there, Ms. Hodges furthered her career as a family law and criminal defense attorney in private practice before cofounding Hodges & King, P.A. Ms. Hodges was the Managing Partner at Hodges & King, P.A. before joining the team of Wood, Atter & Wolf, P.A.

Ms. Hodges is the acting attorney for the Jacksonville Jaycees. She participates in the St. Johns County Legal Aid Family Law Clinic along with the Jacksonville Area Legal Aide "Ask-an-Attorney" seminars. Ms. Hodges has also spoken to law groups on such topics as Fourth and Fifth Amendment Rights.
