Aggravated Battery

Section 784.045 of the Florida Statutes defines aggravated battery.

Aggravated battery occurs when a person, while committing a battery, intentionally or knowingly causes great bodily harm, permanent disability, or permanent disfigurement or uses a deadly weapon against a woman they know to be pregnant at the time.

Aggravated battery is a second degree felony punishable with up to 15 years of imprisonment and a $10,000.00 fine.
