Medicaid

Medicaid is a federally funded health care program for the less fortunate.  One of its components is the Institutional Care Program (ICP).  ICP pays for nursing home care. The Medicaid application process is administered through the Florida Department of Children & Families.  Currently, Medicaid is the long term care insurance of the middle class.  Why?  Nursing homes run $72,800 per annum and the average stay is over two years (Alzheimer's and dementia are typically longer).

Medicaid planning is essential prior to, during and after a loved one needs nursing home care.  A Medicaid Fact Sheet can be found in Appendix B of our nursing home guide book.  Please contact us for a copy.
